Made in Sri Lanka for preschools

Less paperwork. More time with the children.

Teachers note a moment in seconds. Kairos helps turn it into a learning story families love, and the teacher approves every word.

How it works

How a moment becomes a story

A child’s drawing, a quick note from the teacher and a story that reaches home the same day. Here is one day at a preschool in Colombo.

  1. Small hands planting a green seedling in rich soil

    9:40 am · Sunbeam Room

    A small moment happens

Nila has watered her bean plant every morning this week. Today she spots the first leaf and runs to tell her friends.

  2. A teacher holding a tablet outdoors

    9:42 am · 30 seconds

    Her teacher captures it

Miss Priya takes a photo and types one quick line on her phone. Then she is straight back with the children.

  3. Draft learning story · example

    Nila’s first leaf

Nila has cared for her bean plant all week. This morning she noticed the first leaf and shouted ran to share it with her friends.

    Lunch break

    Kairos drafts. The teacher decides.

Kairos turns the note into a warm learning story. Priya reads it, changes a word, ticks “I have reviewed this story” and publishes. Nothing reaches families without her.

  4. A mother and her daughter laughing together on a sofa

5:30 pm · On the bus home

    Home feels a little closer

Nila’s mother reads the story on her way home. At dinner she asks about the beans, and Nila tells her everything.

The small moments are the ones worth keeping.

A first word in Tamil. A tower that finally stayed up. Kairos helps teachers catch them before the day moves on.

What Kairos does

Everything a preschool day needs, in one calm place.

Kairos drafts. The teacher decides.

A quick note becomes a warm learning story. The teacher edits it, and nothing reaches families without approval.

Inside a Kairos classroom

Every corner of the room is full of learning

Kairos helps teachers notice it, write it down and share it. Walk through the room and see what a teacher might capture at each corner.

Who can see Ayan’s story?

Children’s information is protected by who you are. Kairos is designed around Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, and AI never sends anything to families on its own.

  • Ayan’s parents

Can see it. Yes, once his teacher has approved the story.

  • Teachers at his centre

Can see it. Yes, so they can plan and share the care.

  • The centre director

Can see it. Yes, to support quality across the centre.

  • Other children’s parents

Cannot see it. Never. Parents only see their own child.

  • The public or advertisers

Cannot see it. Never. Children’s data is not used for marketing.

Tharun De Silva, founder of Kairos

A note from the founder

Built from the classroom, not from a boardroom.

Kairos was founded by Tharun De Silva, a pre-primary school teacher and business graduate who saw firsthand how much invisible work educators carry.

While teaching, Tharun kept asking why the same level of digital support, learning visibility, and communication tools were not available to children and educators back home in Sri Lanka.

Kairos is his answer: a calm, intelligent platform designed to help early learning teams document beautifully, communicate clearly, and protect the educator’s time — without replacing the human care at the heart of early childhood education.

Questions parents and centres ask

Is Kairos available today?

Kairos is in founding pilot recruitment. We are inviting selected early learning centres in Sri Lanka to join us in shaping the platform. Public availability follows the pilot window.

Who is Kairos for?

Pre-primary and kindergarten educators, Montessori directresses, centre directors and owners, and parents of children in participating centres. Each role has a tailored view inside the platform.

Does AI replace educators?

No. Kairos drafts. Educators review, edit, and approve. Nothing AI-generated reaches families until a qualified educator has reviewed it. The educator’s voice and judgement stay central to every story.

How is children’s data protected?

Parents only see their own child’s information. Role-based permissions control access inside each centre. Child data is never used for public marketing. Privacy and consent are built into the product direction.

Is Kairos aligned with the ECECF?

Kairos is being built with the Sri Lankan Early Childhood Education Curriculum Framework in mind. Alignment work is ongoing alongside our pilot centres so the platform reflects how documentation actually flows in real classrooms.

What languages does Kairos support?

Kairos is being designed for Sinhala, Tamil, and English. Communicating with parents in their own language is part of our founding plan.

How much does Kairos cost?

Please talk to us. We agree founding pilot pricing with each centre, and public pricing will be set together with our first centres after the pilot.
